The Mamaket idea started in 2020 when a homesick Software Engineering international student in a Fremont college campus in Silicon Valley, California discovered that grappling with homesickness and finding products to satiate the desire for familiar taste was not just the struggle of one student new to the country, but almost all immigrants.
But from a harmless daydream, the idea became a necessity after he listened to some local cultural store owners lament the challenges of running their own ecommerce websites, and, for some, the costs of selling in generic marketplaces.
Mamaket was then founded in 2023 with a strong desire to serve immigrant communities and culture explorers in the United States as the largest, seamless, sophisticated and intelligent marketplace for cultural shopping.
